A United States Army base located in a suburban neighborhood in Staten Island, New York. The fort is just beneath the Verranzano-Narrows Bridge leading to Manhattan. The base was home to The Pit -- G.I. Joe headquarters. Located underneath the Motor Pool of the Chaplain's Assistants School, The Pit's existence was known to very few people Apparently, most of the personnel at Fort Wadsworth was unaware of the Pit's existence, believing that the Joe team members were just motor pool staff. Fort Wadsworth withstood two Cobra attacks on The Pit, the second of which destroyed the Joes' headquarters and revealed the Joes' presence to all personnel. The base's gymnasium served as a temporary base of operations before the Joes moved to a new base in Utah. Years after the Joes left, Fort Wadsworth was one of the many military bases closed down in the past decade. It now houses G.I. Joe's ultra secret strike force, Fem Force. Very few G.I. Joe members know of the teams existance outside of General Joseph Colton, the members are considered G.I. Joe reservists by the majority of the G.I. Joe Task Force.

This facility in New Jersey was the home to the laboratory that developed the Rail Gun prototype. The Night Creepers infiltrated the facility, under orders from Cobra, stealing the Rail Gun and kidnapping Dr. Biggles-Jones.

Located on the Penobscot River, the American Revolution era fort was built to defend against the French from Canada, and then the Confederates of the South. It never fired a shot in either conflict, but its the perfect place for a secret Cobra base..., under ground.

Located in San Francisco, the Arashikage Martial Arts Academy was owned and operated by Tommy Arashikage, a.k.a. Storm Shadow.

A small town on the New Jersey shore, Broca Beach was intended to become Cobra's secret base in America, replacing the long-lost town of Springfield.

The name of the Chinese food restaurant operated by the Soft Master in Spanish Harlem. The store was the site of many attempted robberies, all thwarted by the Soft Master. He had a box full of confiscated weapons behind the counter. After a brief fight there between Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow, the restaurant was closed down and boarded up. Many years later, the G.I. Joe Ninja Force opened a martial arts school for underpriviledged students, using the Comidas Chinas storefront.

U.S. military reservation, 110,000 acres (44,515 hectares), Hardin and Meade counties, N Ky.; est. 1917 as a training camp in World War I. It became a permanent post in 1932. In the steel and concrete vaults of the U.S. Depository there, the bulk of the nation's gold bullion is stored. Of interest is the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor. Deep within it's depths is a ultra secret Cobra base.

An automobile repair shop in Denver, Colorado operated by the Cobra Crimson Guardsman, Fred VII. Fred serviced and repaired cars at the garage, but he was in reality a mechanical engineer. He designed weapons and technology for Cobra in a lab hidden in the back of the garage. It was there that Fred built the suit of battle armor that he would later wear while posing as Cobra Commander. He also allowed his accountant, Raptor, to keep his specially-bred hawks in the lab.

Darklonia is named for the wealthy Darklon family that settled there during the Middle Ages. According to tradition, the Darklon family were distant relatives of the Destros, before that family settled in Scotland. The Darklons are part of a long line of privateers, mecenaries and investment bankers. They have sold and manufactured weapons for as long as the business has existed. While the lord Darklon is the leader of the country, he has had little to do with the people who lived there. After the feudal era, the people have lived there lives with little contact with Darklon, except for those who have been employed by the weapons manufacturing business. In recent times, Darklonia's national policy has been to foster terror and unrest, making certain that there is a market for the country's armament sales.

A small, snowy nation located in Northern Europe. Frusenland is largely rural, and life there is still centered around reindeer hunting and herding. The country has only one major city, its capital, Frusenhagen. Despite Frusenland's peaceful history, the nation's prime minister bought many Terror Dromes from Cobra in the 1980s.
