The photo shoot had been going well enough, and though the schedule was hectic, Cover Girl still had plenty of time to snoop out the place. The GI Joe's had been getting reports from the locals that something very weird had been going on at the old fort at night, and a satellite sweep of the area had been ordered.
Though nothing of any significance had been found, a second, accidental sweep by a geological satellite there were traces of metals that should not have existed during the fort's construction, and that was enough to send in a team for a look see.
"Scarlett, I haven't found much in the way of suspicious activity, but there is something going on here. Mostly at night, which is why I am here now."

Little did Covergirl know that she wasn't the only one on the prowl in the area as, through thermal vision, someone watched her, and recorded her speaking. Hidden in the darkness someone crept up on her for reasons all unknown. The figure placed a small disc on the wall, then pressed a central button. Covergirl's communications were immediately cut.

"I'll be exploring the lower west side of the fort tonight. Scarlett? Scarlett did you copy? Scarlett? ?" Checking the comm-link for problems, Cover Girl discovered the unit was in perfect working order, which posed a problem. Kneeling down on one knee, the woman did an scan of the area to check for possible interference, and in moments the coordinates were zeroing in on a position just behind where Cover Girl was."What the hell?"

There was no movement. Either the source was automated, unaware, or was a trap as far as she knew. Still, the figure watched her, skulking in the dark, seeing her body heat. Saw her scanning. Watched her come closer. Watched motionless from the ceiling with the jamming device near the ground.

Cover Girl moved toward the signal's location, only to stop when she saw the red flashing light. Stepping back while she looked around her, she pulled out a small silencer equipped pistol and fired one shot, taking the little gizmo out without a miss.
Almost immediately her head set came alive with Scarlett's voice asking for her status - her twenty, prompting Cover Girl to act quickly in case she had been compromised.
"Scarlett, had to deal with a scrambler. My cover may be compromised, but I'm going ahead with the mission. Will check in at 0-five hundred. CG out."

"Tricky tricky... How to proceed?" Oh the joys of the job. Too numerous to count, too many to choose from. The figure crawled slowly on the ceiling not making a sound. One hand gripped the vibro knife at the small of her back then she dropped down feet first looking to land on Covergirl, and straddle her back using her boot's "Van Der Waals Force" to help adhere herself and prevent being thrown off so easily while her vibro knife buzzes loudly as it seeks to slice the main electronics of the headphone to disable it.

"What the......, somehow I knew I wasn't alone."
Cover Girl heard the slightest of sounds alerting her to another's presence above her. Spinning to see what she was up against, Courtney saw more than heard the person landing on the floor behind her, pressing Courtney into action. Pulling a hidden blade from a form fitting pouch secreted into her outfit, Cover Girl prepared for battle, even as a small smile crept upon her lips.
"But it will take more than parlor tricks to take me down, Cobra."

Psychological warfare. Freak someone out and they won't be able to react as sharply. Still, it was unsettling to be called "Cobra." "Scarlett, had to deal with a scrambler" Rebel Raven, who used her mask's recordings and speakers, replied in a distorted version of Covergirl's voice as the figure stood with vibro knife in hand. In the dim light it was obvious to see that the feminine figure that stood in front of her had a not quite rifle sized firearm, and a pistol on her thigh with a few more weapons. She looked like she were out to fight an army to say the least. Despite it all the figure only wielded a knife when she could've sniped Covergirl, or at least pulled her gun, but she didn't. Looked like a knife fight was in the future for some reason. Rebel Raven strafed Covergirl slowly with her guard up. From what was visible there's no Cobra emblem on either one of them.

Courtney watched the darkened figure move about her, and with each step the figure took, Courtney turned. They were alone in the room for all she knew, but that couldn't rule out a possible attack from a hidden observer, and that one single fact kept Cover Girl alert.
"Well, what are you waiting for, or are you just here to talk?"

The figure dropped her hands, and stopped strafing Cover Girl. Obviously this wasn't working. "I've got three questions." The voice that came from her was her own, but still distorted to prevent being recognized. "One, why are you here. Two, Who sent you, and three... do you have -any- idea how much those jamming devices cost?" The latter question came out for the sake of humor more than anything, and all of them seemed way too casual. She placed a finger to her helmet, and switched to night vision, though the hand gesture was completely optional and was used to make it seem like she had a weakness.

"I am aware of their cost, yes. As for the other two questions, take off the mask and we'll talk elsewhere, that is if you prefer not to be spotted with me."
Placing the knife back in the sheath for the moment, Courtney stepped back and crossed her arms under her chest. If needed, she could bring just about any of her weapons to bear against this person, from the size and shape a woman, but for now, she'd play it cool, non-offensive.
"I'll answer your questions if you but comply."

"Sorry, sexy, mask stays on. My identity is a trade secret." you could almost see the smirk behind the breathing mask that just came out oh so damn smug. "And I'd be more worried about being seen with me." That part didn't sound so smug. "I've got an objective here, but a few minutes with you couldn't hurt." The Vibroknife ceased humming, then was sheathed. "Lead on."

"I could remove it by force if I wanted to, but for now lets keep this friendly. This way."
Returning with her own smug comment, Courtney walked from the room, taking her small bundle of equipment with her as she did. Moving out into the forest surrounding the fort, Cover Girl finally found the right spot, one surrounded by trees with a small brook running through it, and then turned.
"This good enough?"

"Try it, and I'll use my latex dissolving grenade on you." And it was hard to tell if that was a joke or not the way it was said, still it was a hell of a cheap shot! She walked with the woman calmly, and she wasn't sure why she agreed to it. Maybe she's just a sucker for a pretty face. .. yeah, she hated herself for that.
Then the 2 woman caravan stopped."You lead me here, you tell me." "God, I just can't get serious here." she kicked herself mentally. "Get it together." "Now, about those questions?" She said calmly as she switched to thermal sensors to make sure no one else was around, and she didn't have to exclaim that this was a trap, then gun down boobalicious here.

"Fair enough. My name is Courtney Krieger, here on a photo shoot for a magazine called Bizaar. That should answer both of your questions."
Relaxed for the moment, Courtney observed the woman in front of her. The questions had been answered though why she'd have all the equipment and weapons would be a bit harder to explain, but still, Cover Girl wondered why the woman didn't just try and take her down, especially as they were now alone.
