History:
A prime example of what can happen when great ability is not directed by Responsibility; Firewall's teenage years were ruled by mischief and, later, criminal activity. Her natural genius for computers and teenage boredom led her into a hacking career of unparalleled proportions. Beginning with simply altering her high school grades, she quickly moved on to manipulation of credit cards & bank accounts of government officials as a misguided form of protest and rebellion. She remained undetected in these endeavors until she hacked her way into U.S. Military systems, learning of experimental nano-mite technology and research. She was unable to completely hide her movements within government systems, leaving traces that garnered the attention of the F.B.I., who arrested & prosecuted her. While she was incarcerated in federal prison, her abilities became known by military programers who were becoming concerned with evidence of nano-technology being developed by terrorist groups. The Feds released her, in order to enlist her services in defeating the nano threat they were facing. This, and her later work with G.I. Joe, served to commute her prison sentence.
Firewall came to the team an extremely inexperienced & undisciplined youth, though she has grown into a mature, responsible, young woman. This growth of character has also aided her work, bringing a focus has helped her rapid skill development. Her assistance, programming, and engineering was fundamental to the state-of-the-art systems that run The Rock. The Herculean task of building the facility could not have been accomplished without her newfound drive and focus.
