In a booth at the firing range...
"I can't believe you're making me do this." Firewall lamented.
"You won't get as good at it as me, but every one here should know how to do it. Especially young girls like you." Mayday replied flatly.
"It's, too big!" Firewall frowned. "I don't like them this big, or this wide."
"You'll thank me when you're in a position when you have to use it."Mayday sighed starting to lose patience.
"But-" Firewall started. "Mmph! Ah! Hey! Watch my face!"
"Get down, and do it!" Mayday shouted... "There, that's the way. It's not so bad now is it?"
-BLAM-
The target at the end of the range has a hole in it.
"I think I dislocated my shoulder." Firewall complains bitterly, then the door opens. Firewall walks out shouldering a heavy caliber anti-materials rifle.
Mayday follows her out palming her forehead. "You have to hold it snug, and squeeze, not jerk. Lesson's over for today. I want you back here at o-thirteen hundred unless you have an assignment otherwise. I know computers are your specialty, but a computer won't scare off, or dispatch an enemy when you're on the field, and small arms may not be enough." She spoke as she walked with Firewall to the door.
"Think an anti-material rifle is a bit much though?" Firewall frowned.
"Against armor? No. But I suppose a shotgun might be better. Or maybe a PDW? Something more immediately helpful... and easier on the shoulder." Mayday whaps Firewall's shoulder making her yelp with a small smirk. She used the big rifle to offer a psychological boost when she put Firewall on medium weapons.
